Ok, I know I'm outting myself as a Geekatron 5000 here, but does ANYBODY know how I can manage to get a lcars style boot up on the Thrive? I'd like to get this

on my thrive as a boot.

    I don't use it.
you can adjust the framerate. Google it, there are plenty of tutorials online to help you out.

Try this I updated the boot animation.

    - Rotated to landscape
    - Got rid of the Motorola and Verizon on the tablet screen
    - Changed the frame rate to boot up as long as it takes my thrive to boot up.
    - Specs may or may not apply I didn't get that adventurous

Also you might enjoy this one I found for the ASUS-A700

    - I rotated this to landscape as well
    - Set the frame rate appropriate to my thrive
    - Removed the A700 references and replaced them with TOSHIBA THRIVE

I have #2 as my boot animation currently.
You will have to rename them and copy them to the /system/media folder as XM41907 said above. I think you will need root for that although I think I read something on a thread here a while ago there is a way to do it without root. I'm rooted so I can't offer a suggestion.

I know this is a really old thread, but I'm a new Thrive user, so....

I'm also a geek, so I'd like to try this LCARS boot sequence, too. But, although I am rooted (SuperSU says so!), I cannot rename the bootanimation.zip file. I am using Root File Explorer. I rename the file to bootanimation.org, but upon pressing Save, the file is not renamed. So, not surprisingly, when I try to copy the new bootanimation.zip file, the copy operation fails.

What am I missing? How can I rename system/media/bootanimation.zip? Thanks; live long and prosper!

EDIT: problem solved! I installed ES File Explorer, and it gives me access.

If anyone is interested (or even reading this thread any more!), I have rotated (to landscape), edited and converted the LCARS bootanimation for the Thrive. Here are some sample frames....

And here is the file itself. After backing up your current bootanimation (in system/media), just copy this and there you go!
