This suggests clearing the Google Play Store app's cache, clearing Google Service Framework's data, then rebooting. It wasn't successful for all, though.

Fix Google Play RPC:S-5:AEC-0 error retrieving information from server

You wouldn't happen to have two Google IDs going, would you? That was the cause of the only two times I've had problems with the Play Store. Deleting both IDs and restoring just one did the trick.

Thanks for the advice panda, sadly it did not work but I did find a solution, last night I tried the following, I re-downloaded the google apps, rebooted into recovery, re-installed and wiped the cache.

I've been having the same sort of problems with blackbean as well. Periodically, almost every app will force close. The only way I have found to remedy the problem is to boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache. Reboot, then wait 15 minutes for the apps to "rebuild".
