    Thrive Tablet Receives Update to Fix 'Sleep Issue'


    Toshiba's update to fix the "sleep/resume issues" for some users of their Thrive Tablet is now available. You can get the update via the Thrive's "Service Station" app. Here's the quote from Toshiba themselves,
    A limited number of Thrive Tablet users have experienced a Resume issue when in Sleep mode. Toshiba has released a software update to resolve this issue, improving the sleep-and-resume performance, as well as enhancing the multimedia playback capabilities of the device. The software update can be downloaded through the Toshiba Service Station utility app found on the Thrive Tablet.
    It would be nice if human sleeping disorders could be solved with a simple "software/firmware" upgrade...

    Should I update? It's fairly nerve wrecking. I might get the SOD problems if I do, because right now I have none.

    I updated. I had no SOD problems to begin with and none after, so the world is still good.

    Well, looks like the aussie market was missed with this update. Not only stuck with Android 3.0, but consistently getting sleep and restart issues. If I don't see anything by weeks this device is going back to the shop.

    I received and installed the update about 45 minutes ago and within 15 minutes experienced the same issue that I had before the update; sleepy-no-wakey. Not sure what my next step ahould be since I'm less than a week into having purchased the Thrive. Thoughts?

    I would try a hard reset and use it a while without installing any apps and see if you still get SOD.

    i installed the update and had no issues before the download. now, i have an issue with turning my device on.
    When i try to turn the device on from sleep mode, the screen doesnt turn on until i press the on button a second time.

    trying to figure this out... dont know what to do. funny bc i second guessed downloading the update in the first place.
    anyone else have this issue ???
