WiFi Explorer is what I mentioned back in the beginning, but it sure would be nice to hear from the OP.

Toshiba Thrive 32GB
Running DaleNet IMM76D.01.000072314 Deodexed Stock Rooted ROM (US ICS 4.0.4)
I'm using wifi explorer pro.I do transfer all my stuff music, movies with it through my PC/labtop.i think he is talking about trying to connect to the thrive thru a network from someone else network.I have not tried that.I would like to know if wifi explorer pro will work that way.I would think it would.I'm going to see if my sister that lives 50 miles from me can connect to my thrive from her windows browser with the IP address it gives to put in the browser.will let you know.
Not likely to work if there is a NAT configured router anywhere between the two devices.
hi all I tried to get my sister to type in the IP address that wifi explorer pro gave me.she typed it in but did not connect.so I guess it will only work with the network it was setup on.
Did you try the computer's ip address for www access? Assumimg what you tried was the network address 192.xxx.x.x.

yes I thought the IP address that wifi explorer gave was only for my network.i was just curious if it would work.I think that what the first post was trying to do.
Would port forwarding on one's router work to access WiFi Explorer from another network?
Found my signature file, but it appears to be empty...
Locate your computer's ip address (just google my ip address). I must use that ip to access my calibre through aldiko on www. If I put in the network ip for my computer (192. etc), I can only access it while on my network. I can't tell you it will work. Just a suggestion.
EDIT: Well, that didn't work. The Thrive showed the same ip as my pc.I like the program though.
