Wifi speeds down 3.52Mbps up 2.93Mbps on Thrive.

WiFi speeds down 3.52Mbps up 2.93Mbps on Thrive, on PC down 29.17Mbps up 12.96Mbps.

Router - Netgear WNR2000v1 latest firmware version.

Don't know if I had this issue from the start our when it started..

I have tried multiple things with little to no noticeable difference.

    Current settings.
    Security WPA2 - AES
    Static IP
    disabled WMM
Channel scanned for best is at 11
    Distance 10 feet away.
No wireless handsets but I am in apartment complex so that's not saying much.
This router is only 2.4 GHz

I have completely reset the router, tried different security and channels settings.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also if anyone can recommend a inexpensive 5.0 GHz router that works with the Thrive.

Those speeds are pretty normal for a WiFi G device on 2.4ghz. The thrive doesn't use 5ghz I don't think. The higher the frequency the higher the speed but the weaker the signal penetration, so you may want to consider walls between it and the router.

I'm sure others can chime in what they get also.

No suggestions other than I don't believe a 5.0 Ghz router will help unless there is simply something wrong with your current router. AFAIK, the Thrive only uses 2.4 Ghz. FWIW, I get 21.10 down and 10.43 up with the Cox medium speed plan.

So no one using a Thrive has gotten higher WiFi speeds? Only reason I post this question was bc during my research I noticed that someone posted on this forum getting max connection of 75Mbps.

Mbps and MBs are different, I think maybe he says Mbps and you're reporting MBs as Mbps. 75 Mbps is roughly 9.5 MBs, which is the upper end of a WiFi g connection. It is also up to, which means its probably bursting at that speed then settling to an average of half that, approximately what you report getting if that's in MBs and not Mbps.

I know what you posted, I read it. I'm suggesting the math adds up to a common mistake some people do and that's using Mbps and MBs interchangeably, which they aren't.

Another common misconception is a wireless device should be capable of fully saturating a routers bandwidth, at all times be able to saturate their ISP bandwidth, and be able to use file transfers with PCs are LAN speeds. Its an older android tablet, with a pretty basic cheap WiFi card, more then a few megs a second isn't going to happen often or for long, you can have a $40,000 network setup and still never see better then 3, especially in an apparent with various other devices saturating the air around you, a different channel still on the same frequency, it all has to fight each other to be heard. Imagine yelling at a concert, you can be right next to the singer yelling your favorite song in his ear and he would be hard pressed to hear very easily. Same for your thrive and router.

Pio I understand what your saying I would like to see speeds like what DDAZ posted.. I do believe I have an issue with my WiFi only reason it was not obvious for me is bc I hardly stream from the internet on my Thrive. Ran the speed test on kbps lower case setting..

    Down 1582 kbps
    Up. 2835 kbps

My upload is higher then my download..

I suggest eliminating one possibility, by going to a different WiFi connection and ascertaining that it's not an issue with the Thrive.

Unless you've eliminated that, why explore new routers? (unless you just want to buy one... )
