Request: Help with audio books on Overdrive Media Consol

Small issue but one I can't figure out on my own. I can't download/listen to WMA format audio books (from local library) using Overdrive Media Consol. When I attempt a download I get a "This version of Overdrive is not compatable with audioboks in WMA format" (or something similiar to that message). I upgraded to the latest version (2.4.0.0) with no success. I've looked at the settings...nothing there...searched the web...no joy. Any ideas are much appreciated.

WMA is windows media audio and the thrive is not windows based, it's android. May I suggest that you use a different format

Correct, you need to select the MP3 eAudio format from Overdrive if you want to play them on the THRiVE.

Well, as understandable as that is, my library currently only offers audio books in the WMA format. Guess I'll speak to the director. My thanks to both of you for the replies.

That's odd, as I thought Overdrive supported both formats for most of their studio books. It's your library using Overdrive? Or are they only using their console app? Are you selecting titles from your library's online catalog or an Overdrive site? If the latter if you do an advanced search, there should be an option to limit by format, MP3 should be an option.
Found my signature file, but it appears to be empty...

From the library's digital download selection. To be clear, I can't download. When I try Overdrive opens then I get the "WMA/version" incompatability message. The Overdrive help site indicates WMA is supported. I can't find anything in the settings that is changeable or that would lead me to believe I have a settings issue. So, I'll talk to the library and see if they have any ideas.

What is the URL 'name' of your library's Overdrive site?

I believe the app does not support downloading Audiobooks because the Thrive does not have a compatible reader like Windows Media Player. I just got the same error and not all books are available as mp3. I don't know if you can use Overdrive on the PC to get them and then read them on the Thrive somehow.

I hadn't thought of that. Wonder if DRM would cause a problem. When I check out a book it deletes from my Thrive returns automatically after 14 days...not sure if that's a DRM function or something else.
