You can't. The 3.x OS handles the SD card differently. Until someone updates thier application, you will not be able to. If you have a 16GB Thrive, space should be no issue. Keep all your media (music, pictures, movies, etc) on the SD card.

I wish I would have known this before buying a 32Gb card for the Thrive. I guess I'll use it in my camera.

I do not know why you would say that. Before long, someone will come out with a way to do it, but we need to get root access first. Also, the 16GB internal memory is more than enough for apps and the system. Use the SD card for all your music, pictures, and videos. The system will read media put on them just fine. Keeps you from being space limited for what takes up the most room.

I agree with dalepl. Install apps to the internal storage and store everything else on the external SD (up to 128 GB) or USB (up to 1 TB). There's cloud storage too for what you don't use daily but still would like to have access to. Unless already know you'll exceed 16GB in apps, it should take a while I'd expect. Honeycomb 3.2 is coming soon (already on XOOM) which may finally mark the return of this feature.
