Can you explain a little more about what you're trying to do? What app, what did you copy, did you paste it all ready? I haven't come across a way to this in any OS, so I think we need more info to help you.

dont remember which app when copying text. but clipboard carries over to any app. In previous android devices a long press chooses input method. not here I guess.
I'd still a way to clesr clipboard

A short tap should clear the paste prompt. Also, just waiting a second, doing nothing should make it disappear.

A long press in an input area should bring up a paste option. From here, pasting will paste the clipboard content.

Unless I'm way off, you can't change input method by long pressing a text field in Honeycomb. You change your input method, or keyboard, by clicking on the little keyboard icon that appears near the clock when you have any keyboard pulled up for inputting text. That's how it always work for me, anyway.
