Talking Thrive and Netgear Readyshare USB Drive

How can I get my new thrive to access the hard drive connected to my Netgear Router via Readyshare over my LAN. I can see and down load files using the internet browser typing in the http address of the router. I would like to be able to upload files from the thrive to the hard drive.

I use wifi File explorer from amazon market. will allow files moving in either direction. not the most intuitive interface but it works just fine.

You might give ES File Explorer a try.

I have tried to use ES File Explorer but when I try to access the Router it asks for a Name and Password, which the 750 Netgear Router I have does not have either? Do you know how do I setup ES File Explorer to access the router usb drive?

No, I don't. I've got my laptop files shared for access, but I don't have my SC101 connected to the network and probably won't try to use it. When using ES, do you use the LAN tab and Search to find the router? When you access the drive on other computers, did you have to set up some kind of Sharing or Authorize them?

No I just plugged the drive into a USB and use Windows Explorer to access and move files. ES sees the router on my LAN but when I try access it, ES ask for Name and Password.

    1) Are the directories/disks set up for Network Sharing?

    2) On ES check the box by anonymous

I'm just guessing here. When it asks for name/password, try checking the anonymous box and selecting ok.

If that doesn't work, can you right-click on the drive in Windows Explorer? And do you get an option to Share? If you do, set up sharing by adding Guest to the list of users. Make sure you set it as co-owner so you can read/write. Then try the Thrive again. If that works, then you can set up security for the share.

If you can see the router, it sounds like the problem I had before I "shared" my files/folders.

Actually, I think you need to select one of the PCs on the network, not the router.
Found my signature file, but it appears to be empty...

I could be wrong, but I think the drive us connected to the router, not a PC. Here's a video showing how it all works. The key is being able to enter the //readyshare or map the drive in Windows. I have a similar Ethernet drive that I don't have connected. It has control software that is accessed via the internet, much like routers. I don't remember if I had to "share" it or something similar.
