And all it takes is a $1k welding/reflow station to do it....

Nice work, though... Love to see photos....

Where did you find a compatible 64G chip.
Afaik, the Thrive wasn't available with anything larger than 32G. Can the controller 'see' all 64G?
    Or 128G?

    Old (ancient) post, but....

    I was given a broken 32gb Thrive.
    I have a working 16gb Thrive.

Can this ENTIRE daughterboard (not JUST the chip) from a 32gb Thrive (AT105-T1032) be installed in a 16gb Thrive (AT105-T1016)?

    easy? (e.g. mechanical swap)
moderate? (e.g. swap and flash something)
    difficult? (e.g. de-solder BGA, etc)

I'll do the first two..last one not be worth it..

If you have the eMMC board and are comfortable with opening up the Thrive (there's a thread on disassembly), it should be a straightforward swap, since you're disconnecting the old board and connecting the new one (no need for solder work). Your working Thrive shouldn't even know anything's changed.
