i find that my thrive gets better batty life than my wifes ipad 2(between 11-12 hours of battery life with normal use) and it recharges 10X faster i can come home frome work with my thrive on 20% battery and within an hour my thrive is back upto 85% or more my wifes ipad2 would go from 20% to 40% in the same time.

The charger time is awesome with these. I'll take a bulky fast charger over a USB one anyday.

Newb to thrive & have ?

"Mine lasts between 10-12 hours running or 3 days plus on standby. If however, you've previously owned any other Android device and allowed it to restore a backup of that device onto your Thrive. You'll likely be left with poor battery life due to all those apps."

I read this in one of the other threads. I will be getting my new Thrive on Monday and I have an existing Google account. My question based on the above statement is as follows. When I log into my google account will all the apps from my smart phone be loaded automatically to my thrive tablet ? If possible how do I prevent the apps from automatically loading on my tablet when I set it up?
Sorry for the stupid question but I am atotal NUB to tha tablet market.

There is a setting when you do the setup for restoring your apps. Just ensure it is not selected. I do believe it is by default.

If they do install, you can just uninstall any you don't want on the Thrive. If you have a large amount, use a batch uninstaller to make it go faster.

I don't know how it works on Android and the THRiVE, but my Palm T|X uses more battery scanning for WiFi than actually being connected to a hotspot. I would suspect the same holds true for the THRiVE.

I've used my thrive for 6 hours today and am at 52%.

Brightness all the way down and connected constantly to 1 wifi network.
