Thrive AT-105 asking for a password?

My wife used some credits to purchase a Thrive tablet close to year ago (give or take). She had hopes that it would work more like a laptop, so when it didn't she lost interest in it. In the process of picking it back up and turning it on, it is now asking for a Password. We NEVER put a password on the tablet. I did a factory reset thinking that would wipe things clean (didn't have anything on it anyway due to it not being what my wife expected), but it is still asking for a password.

How am I supposed to get this password issue fixed? There has to be an easy fix, but I haven't found any solutions despite reading through a number of posts on this site.

I'm REALLY regretting not sending this paperweight back...

    Can someone please help?

It might be looking for the Google account password. Try that.

    Assuming that it's looking for the Thrive password, not the Google password;
Easiest, but most extreme fix: Factory reset.

If you did the reset exactly as instructed above, it's possible that the only other option is to reflash the device.
The will take it back to true factory fresh condition.

Otherwise, depending on what side of the 1 year is given or taken, the warranty may still be in effect.

Use the Google password that was setup with its play store gmail etc when it was first setup. The reset should have cleared that, though. May need a rollback done to flash it clean.

    Pio,

I'm back and frustrated as ever. The google password doesn't do it. It is showing a screen with the Android guy Enter your password _______________. I've tried the factory reset MULTIPLE times and it just reboots and comes back to this page over and over and over.

This stupid machine has been worthless to us for over a year now...it's getting REALLY old as I promised to get this fixed for her Mother's Day present.

    HELLp!!!

Sounds like a reflash is required...
PM either Pio or dalepl, and ask....

Scooby, you did a factory reset like this? Maybe you could take a picture for us.

Getting reflashed definitely will take care of it. It's the ultimate exorcism for any demons in a Thrive.

I've offered, he doesn't seem interested, hopefully he gets it taken care of and reports back how for future users.
