Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped.

    Using ICS.
Downloaded a file. Message shows (download complete arrow) In bottom right screen tray.
However, when I attempt to open the file, I get the above message.

So, I deleted the downloaded file in file manager.
But, the completed download arrow remains in the tray (even after many re-boots).

    What do I do now?

    You might try this:

Settings>Applications>All>Download Manager> ClearCache>Clear Data. Reboot. See if that fixes the problem and try downloading the file again.

What happens when you open the tray, then swipe left or right on the download arrow to get rid of it?

Once again, I almost got ninja'd by the ever savvy Rosalie! I was about to post the same thing.

Jeeesh! The simple swipe to the right worked.
Where do you folks learn all these easy solves to my stupid "critical" scares?

    Thanks!

Thanks, SHADO. I neglected to mention swiping to get rid of the download icon. I misunderstood, thinking that frjeff wanted to fix the error message and download the file again.

Nothing stupid about it, frjeff. Glad it was a simple fix. Wish everything were that easy
