Question toggle screen on / off.

I'd love to find a way to turn off the diplay while connected via HDMI. I saw this question on some XOOM and Acer threads and thought it would be good to bring it this way. I will keep rootin around and see what I can come up with. Sure would be a nice feature wouldn't it?

For presentations its easier to have the screen on for navigational purposes. In fact, i prefer the swipe method to turn pages. I was thinking more along the lines of multimedia entertaiment. Battery life would increase and it would eliminate perhiphreal distractions if watching a video in a home theatre inviroment.

I agree it should be an option, it's pointless to have the screen on when watching something on the TV via HDMI. I always turn the screen off on my laptop when I've got it hooked to my TV.

I'm more interested in saving battery since the screen is what eats the most battery on this thing.

Seems like what we are looking for is extended desktop capability, and not the current option which is mirrored desktop. By default screen off = lock and it stands to reason that with a mirrored desktop it applies to your tablet screen or hdmi. Looks like alot of this will have to do with the capabilities of the Tegra2
