    Brightness

Is there a way to turn the brightness past the current Max (not mine the thrive's, no hope there) just curious. Other tablets can go brighter. Can ours?

I seen somewhere a man bought an acer a500 screen to install in the tt. I happens to be the same screen. I know the acer gets brighter than the thrive and was wondering if there was a way to push past toshiba's limitation. just thinking.

Assuming that the screens (including backlighting) are absolutely identical. not just interchangable, that could only be in hardware. You'd need to up the voltage to the backlight, if possible, to make it brighter, or use a different driver chip that might be on the main board- not part of the display. It could also be that a different GPU is being used- I'm not familiar with the Acer hardware specs.
Unless we're just dealing with variations in hardware- some will always be brighter or dimmer than the "norm".

Have you turned off "auto-brightness". With this on, even set to 100% it may still be dimmer than 100%.
