    Volume Control - not working

I did a search but don't see anything.. so I have to ask.

Just received the TT and been playing around with it today. I noticed that the volume control - is not working. I have to press + then use the on screen to adjust it. Is it broken?

Not broken. Just one of their (google) odd designs Is a feature you're supposed to love.
Take a look at this one instead - "Volume in Notification"

Yes, you do need to run the application to enable, but once ran, the volume icon allows you to quickly change the volume by the up, down and mute buttons. I find it to be a very nice, friendlier, alternative, the best I found so far. I have not yet found a way to have it always at my findertips, since a new restart requires to put it there again. What are they all thinking of when they design those things I'll never know

thanks ttmoo. I downloaded it and it works good but I still don't know why the - rocker is not working. I don't want to send it back as I just got it but I don't want to have some thing broken either.

I believe it's broken (or at least stuck) and that could spell trouble if you root and want to use CWM. CWM uses the volume rocker to navigate through its menu. The volume + alone will work, but if it breaks too, I believe you are stuck.

yours work because it was rooted? mine is still 3.1. all I did was upgraded some Toshiba apps. It looks like a few people has the same issue from google search.

btw the keyboard lag is hella annoying . Took me forever to type this message.

Mine has always worked, 3.1, 3.2, 3.2 OOM Rooted. In fact, it took me a bit to figure out I could use the slider. This isn't the first time a problem doesn't affect all users.

Thanks DoubleDAZ. I contacted Toshiba support and got hold of a level 1 guy to file a case for sending back to repair. After all the info and a brief chat, he came back and said, "sorry, unfortunately our system is down and I can't process your case, can you call back tomorrow?"...WTH?? seriously...man...that sucks!....The repair time is 7-10 business days + 10 bus days of ground transportation both ways...Looks like won't see it for another month...that just blows!!!

You might be better off exchanging with the vendor where you purchased the device. That would be much quicker.
