I got my new Toshiba Thrive 3 days ago. Love it but it has lot of limitations I have just one Question,
How can I install WinXP or Win7 on Toshiba Thrive tablet?

    Thanks.

I feel the same. On Android, you need each app for everything you want to do. You need an app for youtube, and when you want to view hulu.com, good luck.

You can not install Windows XP or Windows 7, They don't support ARM processor on the thrive.

You cannot. Windows does not support the ARM processor and if it did, it would drag the device down to nothing better then a paper wieght.

If you want a Windows tablet experience, you may want to look at a Windows-based Tablet PC. They have more processing power and storage.
Neither is bad, it's just a different mentality. In Android you add apps for the specialized functionality you need. Some of these are free, some are paid.

Having used a netbook, laptop, tablet PC, desktop PC and I find I can do most of what I need to do on Android, and when I need more, I use a Remote Desktop client to drive my Windows PC. But everyone's use case is different.

There is no way to boot from the USB unless you make changes to the kernel to support this. Also I know Win 8 might support ARM when it is released, but where do you get Win 7 will support arm? Even if you could load it (Win 7), it is so resourse hungry that it would drag the Thrive down to its knees (if it had any).

*rolls up newspaper and beats the new guy* NO! BAD! bad new thriver!

(I might be wrong on some points, but this is what I've gathered so far on the subject, feel free to correct me)

I could see Windows 8 being loaded when its later released and has ARM support but there are a great many things that need to happen before that time comes.

    A) Kernel issue, Toshiba still needs to release their own for the developers to look at/play with/alter
    B) As Dale pointed out, because of the Kernel issues or lack of Kernel support the current hardware is not as cooperative as it would need to be to support Windows porting?
    C) There are also the issues of Driver support, even if you get Windows 8 on the tablet you'd need drivers for the hard ware. (this might be hand in hand with B, or different entirely, my level of knowledge in kernel/drivers for android is limited other than knowing its based off linux.)
    D) The planets must align at just the right moment allowing refracted light from the sun to bounce off of saturn's rings of ice and hit the toshiba at just the right time on 12/12/12 at 12:12am
