I never understood the Britts' facination with these types of games. They seem more like a job than a game to me.

Dave, movies won't play on a rooted/rom'd Thrive.

I DL'd the 25-cent Puncture just to try it again with the new market, same result: says it can't fetch the license.

(Works fine on my unrooted phone).

Thanks. I think I'm going to unroot my wife's Thrive so we can use this stuff while traveling.
    Cheers, Dave

Some DRM protected apps will work with the following app that temporarily unroots the device (by hiding SU). It doesn't work for all, but you some brave soul may want give it a shot:

    OTA RootKeeper

I should have asked again though, are they actually downloaded to the Thrive or just streamed? I would want to download them before our trip at the end of the month and then we'd watch them in the van while the other is driving.

I downloaded one movie yesterday; I left the others as is...residing, I assume, on the Google Play site. In order to answer your question, I turned off wifi, then clicked on the "Play Movies" app on my Thrive. All my rented movies are in there. The one I had downloaded said "100% downloaded" under it. It plays perfectly with no internet connection. When I click on one of the movies that I did not download, a popup says it can't play because I have no internet connection (or wording to that effect) I hope this answered your question. I looked in file manager under "movies" and "downloads" and did not see the movie there, but it IS in the movies app.

Oh, btw, the first movie I watched didn't fill the whole screen, even in full screen mode, but the movie I just tried filled the whole screen. It also plays smoothly, has great color and sound

Thanks, rosalie. Now I have to think about unrooting, but I see some folks having trouble with that.

The app that mcarver2000 posted about actually sounds promising, although I don't know much about rooting/ I read through reviews and although seems mostly being used on phones, I did see a couple good reviews from Transformer Prime users. If all it does is temporarily unroot by hiding SU, would that work for your purposes? I mean rather than go through a real unroot/reroot process? I really don't even know what I'm talking about, LOL.
