If you are talking about pre-installed apps, you have to be rooted to do it. There are tons of threads on rooting to help you decide if you want to join the ranks of the rooted.

    Welcome!

Yes, what jackf said. You need to be rooted if you want to remove the apk. You can still uninstall the app but the apk will remain on memory.

If you want to do that,

    ~ Settings
    ~ Applications
~ Touch on the app you want off
    ~ uninstall
    ~ Exile

But if your question is simpler, as in how to delete stuff from your homepage, longpress on it, then you can drag it to the little trashcan icon in the corner.

I am pretty sure that if one can actually uninstall the app, the apk is removed from internal storage as well. I didn't think we could even "pretend" to uninstall the pre-installed apps.
