    Using fastboot(1.2) was unsuccessful and resulted in the same loop that carnage104 had.

    Just started on using easy flash(1.3) and ill keep you posted how that goes.

    Sorry, so we would be using easy flash to flash the .0001 even though we are using .0002 and then just use clockworks to move back to original stock?

    No! What ROM are you currently on? If you are on HTK55D.31.13.5.0001, I have this ROM already rooted and posted. All you would need to do is flash ClockWorkMod onto the device. You do not need to root it. If you want to root it, I would need to add it to the Easy Flash Tool.

    Ah. I might have misunderstood.

    So i would use flash the device with clockworkmod, then install the rom.

    and to use flash clockworkmod, you do it over easy flash 1.3

    How would we verify if we have fastboot?

    ~
    Also using easy flash tool (1.3) doesnt seem to do it to install
    Steps
    1. I first go into fastboot mode (turn on using + and power)
    2. run 1.3 (flash > clockworkmod)
    (output)
    ************************************************** *************************
    * Toshiba Thrive Easy Flash Tool *
    ************************************************** *************************
    * Select the recovery image to flash: *
    * *
    * 1. ClockWorkMod *
    * 2. Stock *
    * 3. Return to Main Menu *
    * *
    ************************************************** *************************
    Enter selection and then press the ENTER key: 1
    Please wait... Flashing ClockWorkMod recovery image to the device.
    sending 'recovery' (4268 KB)...
    OKAY [ 0.274s]
    writing 'recovery'...
    OKAY [ 0.631s]
    finished. total time: 0.906s
    ClockWorkMod recovery image flashing completed.
    Your device will now reboot.
    rebooting...
    finished. total time: 0.002s
    Waiting on device to fully boot.

    3. It looks like clockwork mod has installed, however, there is nothing additional in apps.
    4. To verify, i reboot to (+ and power mode), enter the middle one, recovery kernel, which should be clock work mod.
    5. It is android system recovery utility<3e>

    OK, it is working. Two things. ClockWorkMod is not an app, it is an alternative recovery image, so it will not show up in apps. Second. Since you are not rooted, if you let the device boot, even to the boot screen, the stock ROM will replace ClockWorkMod with the stock recovery. You need to hold down the volume up buton whrn the device reboots. Theis will put you straight into the recovery menu. Select the middle icon and ClockWorkMod will load. The text will be blue and it will say CWM and the version number in the upper left. Once in ClockWorkMod, you can load a ROM and backup your device. Now, be sure to have the ROM you want to load already on your SDcard before going into ClockWorkMod.

    Brillant, that was the major thing i was missing out on.
    Thank you so much for your time, its all perfect now.

    For people who had the same issue the basic rundown of steps you need to take is:

    Prepare:
    Download a rom from the amazing dalepl, load the zip file inside that to a SD card.

    1. Run easy flash tool (I used 1.3)
    (number 3, anykey, clockwork mod)
    2. Watch your device get flashed however when it reboots HOLD DOWN ON THE volume up button.
    3. You should enter into clockworkmod, here just follow the steps from where you got your rom from.
    4. Reboot your device, and also give thanks for dalepl and all the other developers, with their hard work and understanding we can all do this.

    You guys are quite welcome. I think I am going to edit the Easy Flash Tool so the reboot takes you straight into ClockWorkMod. It is a good time to do a bckup.
