Noob wondering how to upgrade from rooted 3.1 to v4.x

First of all, a big thanks to all for the loads of great info here. I recently rooted my AT100 using procedures found here. My Thrive is running great on a dalepl ROM and CW is awesome as well. My question is simply this:

What is the correct procedure for me to keep my root/SU privileges and upgrade from 3.0 to 4.x?

Thanks in advance for everyone's advice/time/patience!

Flashing dalepl's Rooted ICS ROM or any of Pio Masaki's will do it, but, dalepl's will do a full wipe, so save all user media, documents, photos, etc.
As the device is rooted, standard upgrading via SS won't work.

Thanks danvee. I definitely didn't want to make the mistake of using SS to update....even a noob as simple as me knows what consequences that could bring! Everything running smoothly with v4.x?

No mistake possible. It wouldn't work at all.
Dalepl's Rooted ICS ROM works fine, and has since I beta tested it before he did the "official" release.

So, I should use CWM to flash a new dalepl ROM and proceed to enjoy?

Could you post a link to the ROM plz? What would you recommend to back up app data?

+1 to this. I'm a noob, too (just got my Thrive about 2 months ago). I followed DalePL's instructions and with just a few mouse clicks and screen presses, I'm rooted and have ICS 4.0.4. No problems since!
