Just find out the name the kernel uses for its version and I'll do the rest.

I think this is what you're looking for, it's what reports back on the dmesg line for the error:

    " rt2800usb: version magic '2.6.39-4-g9e49eed-dirty SMP preempt mod_unload ARMv7 ' should be '2.6.39.4-Balthesaur-V2.75 SMP preempt mod_unload ARMv7 ' "

That would be it, I'll compile a kernel with that name instead, maybe it'll allow you to load the module. I'll package it up for you in a flashable zip with the matching wifi modules or you'll lose the built in wifi also.

This is awesome of you! Thank you so much! This will most certainly open up the doorway to greater things I think. Having the ability to use external USB WIFI dongles right now is considered a hack for android; as I am sure it was when it originally came out for most systems. There are no builds that I have seen so far as complete and smooth as yours; then to have the potential of universal dongle support -- well, I am truly looking forward to it! It will be the first of it's kind as far as I know

    You rock Pio!

The best way is to ask him what modules he's building, telling me, then me compiling it in on our device instead of hacking in theirs

I agree. From what I gathered thus far they were all grabbed and compiled from linux source :

    Drivers - Linux Wireless
    or
Comparison of open-source wireless drivers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Then cross compiled over to ARM

Hey pio, thanks for the reply. I tried flashing U5.6 and it fixed all the battery problems. Thanks for all your hard work on the ROMs.
