Not really, I'd either run it plugged into an AC inverter or plug it in when the battery runs low. I have 3 AC ports, 2 DC ports and a USB port available to me, though only 1 DC port is used all the time (I keep the Nuvi powered).

So, when is your next trip? We leave Wednesday morning for 2 weeks to Wisconsin, then home for a week and then to Monterey CA for a week.
    Cheers, Dave

    DoubleDAZ,

I use streets and trips for work, I have several stops upto 50 stops. With S&T I can input a time that I would be at each stop, this helps me if I need to make an appointment, Can any of these that you have tested do this? I would like the one that has all or most of the functions that S&T does. Also can a trip be planned on a laptop and transfered to the device?

    Dana.

Not that I know of. I can do something like that on my Nuvi, but I've never run across a field to enter arrival time in any of the nav apps. The best you could do is add the estimated time between destinations to an estimated departure time and then track the arrival time in a calendar app.

I'm sure most of us would love an app with full S&T features, but I don't see that happening on a tablet any time soon, if ever. I suppose we could see am S&T app some day that would let you plan a trip on a PC and then download it to the app.

A trip can be planned on a laptop using Google Maps online, but only the destinations can be downloaded to some GPS devices, including Garmin. All that is though is a short cut to entering destinations to your saved file. I found it more trouble than it's worth and just enter them manually. Even though the Nuvi does trip planning, I still use Google Maps online. I haven't found a way to interface with any nav app on the Thrive.
    Cheers, Dave
