Lightbulb BLUREX Leather ULTRA-SLIM folio Case - New Case

Just received an email from Blurex:
I’m happy to inform you that we just launched a new case for the Toshiba Thrive.
Please take a look here for pictures availability and price.
We currently have it on a special introductory price retailing at $19.99.

Amazon.com: BLUREX Leather ULTRA-SLIM folio Case With convertible Stand for Toshiba Thrive 10.1-Inch 8, 16, 32 GB: Electronics

In my opinion it looks great.
I wish it has multi-angle option so I emailed back asking for it.
    Here's the answer:
Regarding the multi-angle, no chance for that. Reason being, if you look at how the multi-angle case works. It has 2 main clamps the hold the tablet in place. In the thrive, the whole left side is reserved for access to the ports.
So it seems that the multi-angle is not an option for a slim case.

Finally the case I've been waiting for and they don't ship to Australia.

This looks awesome, will assist in keeping things as slim as possible for those that want it.

    cheers

I have the 360 portfolio case and I like it but I may just try this one. The two positions are just what I use and the case looks good.

It does look interesting. The only possible issue I see with it: The case is held on with small clips at the corners that are only attached to the back cover. Seems like it may not be the most secure. (shrug)

I bought one of these, and it arrived today. Here is my "mini review":

As Beaster1174 notes, it does in fact attach via the 4 "corner grabbers". However, it took me quite a bit of pressure to seat the unit in those grabbers, and IMHO it ain't going anywhere. Also, it's not obvious from the pictures I saw online, but the top cover has a similar "clamp" that holds the cover closed.

When I saw the pictures on Amazon, I had the impression that this was going to make my unit a lot thicker, but I have to say that's not the case. It's quite slim; including the back tabs that are used when standing the unit up, it's still less than 1" thick.

The cutouts for all of the connectors and buttons are adequate. I don't have a dock, so I can't tell you whether the unit would fit in a dock with the case in place. But I wouldn't expect it to.

Overall, I like it a lot. I give it a solid "thumbs up".

Seeing as how people seem to dropping theirs more and more (no longer an isolated incident)...

    Technical Details

    • Securely holds your Toshiba Thrive in place with Unique slide in Design without obstructing any part of the screen
    • Protect and Secure your Toshiba Thrive by absorbing shock from accidental drops
    • Custom cutouts for direct access to all device features including access to the front and back cameras
    • Premium leather cover and soft micro fiber interior lining for scratch protection
    • Cover converts into a stand which can be used for viewing or typing

No idea how much shock it's designed to absorb but I hope no one ever has the opportunity to test it either.

I've only taken it out once so far, and it wasn't too difficult. You basically "bow" the back on the outside edge near one of the corners & slide your fingers underneath, and lift the corner; it will pop out with enough pressure. Once you have one corner out, the other one comes out easier, then the unit can be slid out of the inside edge.

out of all the cases I have seen, this one interests me the most.
I saw the video review on youtube about it. Something that bothered me about it was the clamps.
DO they damange the screen at all if you dont plan to use it all the time? Also, the one that clamps it shut, in the video it looked like it was a PITA to do every time.

When using the table what do you do with the flap? I dont want to hold the tablet like a book. does it get tucked back and locked? How is it using thumb keyboard?

I dont plan on using to often, but these are small concerns.
