    Unusual Issue

    Got my new 7 inch tablet today. Pretty stoked since I also own a 10 inch. Only a few hours in and I am already thinking of getting it serviced via the standard 1 year warranty.

    I have updated the 7 inch (stock OTA), I do not know if this issue happened prior to that. If it did I did not notice.

    When ever I use the Thrive, I hear a strange noise. The best way I can describe it is the noise you hear when your ears begin to ring. A sort of high pitched sound. It only last a few seconds then goes away.

    I am considering resetting it to factory settings to see if it will continue to do this. Before I do, has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Or would you all suggest I send it in to get serviced?

    UPDATE!

    I did a factory reset and it significantly made the issue better. However I believe I heard it still do it once. But I heard it so many times I might have been hearing things. I will do another update if I experience it again.

    I would still like to hear the forums feedback on this.

    Can't say for sure what your issue is, but often times when you hear a high pitched squeeling like that it is from a bad capacitor. Does it do it more when the LCD is displaying a lot of a certain color, usually black or dark blue?

    No, it did it after I used the Thrive in some way. For example, if I opened an app it would do it. If I selected a link, it would do it, etc. I haven't experienced it since I restored it. However by you saying it may be a bad cap makes me want to return it immediately to switch it out for a new one.

    I thank that is a good idea.to be on the safe side sence the factory reset did not fix it.I guess after the factory reset you did not install any apps.so a app is not the problem.where did you get it from?

    i would try to get them to swap it out.you only got it yesterday.keep us informed.

    I got it for free from Toshiba. I am apart of the media and I will be writing an article about it. Once I write the article promoting it, I get to keep it.

    I am going to try and not let his effect it. After all, this unit could possibly be defective.
