[Kernel] Baby Balthesaur - a modified HC kernel for AT1S0 7" Thrive

After waiting almost a year, Toshiba did finally send the kernel source for the AT1S0 7" Thrive, and while I haven't had much time to mess with it, I did manage to get a build of a couple of versions to play with.

    IMPORTANT:
This is ONLY for Honey Comb ROMs, this will not work with ICS ROMs at this point.
This is ONLY for the AT1S0 7" Thrive, it is NOT for the AT100/105 10" Thrive or any Excite models, this includes any 3G or non US model devices!

    Features:
Overclocking - CPU speed is stock, GPU is overclocked to 400 Mhz 3D, 300/320 MHz 2D depending on version.
Governors - Added Intellidemand, Scary, Lazy, Wheatley, Lionheart and SavagedZen, same as the 10".I/O Schedulers - Added SIO and VR, same as the 10".
    Additional CFLAGS - -fno-short-enums -march=armv7-a -mtune=cortex-a9

    Change Log:

    Downloads:
You can locate the downloads here Directory listing of http://pio-masaki.com/Thrive/AT1S0
They are currently named for what they are as there are 3 versions.

What do the file names mean? Well let me tell you about that.
For example, right now there are 3 kernel files available:
    kernel-hc-gpu-400-340-sysoc-AT1S0.zip, kernel-hc-gpu-oc-400-320-AT1S0.zip and kernel-hc-stock.zip.

In this lovely example, the first file, kernel-hc-gpu-400-340-sysoc-AT1S0.zip, breaks down like this: (kernel)- notes that the flashable file is a kernel, not a ROM, (hc)- notes it is for HC, and should only be used with a HC based ROM, not ICS or JB, (gpu)- notes the GPU is overclocked, if there is a cpu included then it is also overclocked, (400-340)- notes the overclock range included in 3D-2D, in that order, (sysoc)- notes that there is additional system overclocking in various areas, (AT1S0)- notes it is for the AT1S0 model thrive, not to be flashed on any other model number.

Given that breakdown, the next file, kernel-hc-gpu-oc-400-320-AT1S0.zip, means it runs a lower 2D overclock (320Mhz). The last file, kernel-hc-stock.zip, is stock, meaning while it was built by me, it uses the default configuration and includes NO changes at all. This is the fallback kernel if the modified kernels don't work, flashing that will replace it with a stock version for stability sake.

    Instructions:

    1. Download the weapon of your choice
    2. Reboot into recovery in whatever manner you choose, if you are on Baby Favum then you can choose to reboot to recovery in the Power Menu (hold power for a second while the screen is on)
    3. Install zip from sd card, pick the kernel file you want to rock and roll with
    4. Wipe cache (optional, but a good idea if you have issues after)
    5. Reboot system, let the system settle a few minutes while the kernel grabs a beer and makes itself at home
    6. Enjoy!

    Misc.Info:
This is currently limited to HC only, this is due to Toshiba not sending me the ICS source as I requested over a year ago. As I can't make a new kernel for ICS, I haven't ported any ICS ROMs over, and I can't begin my work on getting CM10 going on it. I'll be submitting my request again soon and hopefully they'll send me the correct ICS source and I can begin my final work for the device. Luckily 90% of the work on the 10" Thrive translates to the 7" Thrive as well, so CM10 shouldn't take long.

If you made a backup in CWM then you can just restore that, if not you'll need someone to get that kernel for you, either from their device or from a stock ROM.

Is the Asian 3G model AT1S0 too?

Like I said you'll need to restore a backup, yours or someone else's, or get ahold of the kernel from the same device or its ROM somewhere. If you have a rooted version you can flash then you can get it from there.

I'll note not to use it on 3G models, I though Asian and 3g models had different model numbers and names.

Edit: I may have to build a kernel for you but I'll need to figure out the 3G part since I can't use your defconfig.

Any ROM you can find that has 3G support will work, don't flash it just find it and let me pull what's needed from it. Dalepl had them but they may all be gone now. Maybe try for the 10" HC ROMs with 3g, if you can find one of those I can manage the rest I think.

If you can download it then yes that'll work. I just need the config from it and I can build a kernel for you to flash back to 3G with if that's for the 10" Thrive. If its for the 7" thrive I can just make you a flashable file to get your kernel back.
