It doesn't have a software like Kies.

Just plug it in and you will be able to browse and transfer files.

I believe you are the first person I've ever heard have good things to say about the near universally reviled Kies software.

I have it for my phone and I avoid it like it was a Justin Bieber concert.

yea comming from itunes you get used to software telling you how to use your hardware. kies was helpful in that all of our pohone data was kept in itunes and kies was able to retrieve it for use so contacts were now made available and music was also transferable as well as pictures. but now with the toshiba not so much. i am finding out that itunes is not the cause for all the evil in the world.

I haven't tried it myself, but there's a free app called Cheetah Sync that can synchronize files onto a device. Made from the same author of iSyncr. Perhaps it can suit your needs?
