Former thrive owners? How does excite compare to thrive is it worth the upgrade?

I have a thrive now and was wondering how the new excite compares to the thrive. Is it worth upgrading to excite from thrive in the 10 inch model. I've really liked the thrive and purchased excite. Any heads up on that idea? Thanks.

I really like mine. There are a few differences that bug me: the power cord isn't as long so you don't have as much room to roam as you did with the Thrive. The full size USB slot is gone so you have to use an adapter to the mini usb slot. The power, charge and wifi leds are gone. And don't forget we don't have root as of now. Sound is better, the processor makes it a better experience, and it is much lighter. Overall, I'm glad I bought it.

"... as of now", love that veiled positive attitude!

Found my signature file, but it appears to be empty...

Yup, I'd have to agree with fireman50. The main one point that bugs me is that it doesn't have a full size USB slot. Heck, it isn't even mini-USB...it's micro-USB. Prior to the Excite, I've never even seen or heard about micro-USB. It's true, you can buy an adapter and it works fine, but that's one more thing to keep track of. The charger is also pretty bulky and awkward. Other than that, I like it better than the Thrive. The extra processing power makes for a way better user experience.

Any difference in the clarity: I know it has gorilla glass. How is that? Also the backlight is that about the same as thrive. The autobright feature. I know the pixel is the same so must be similar or equal.

I don't really notice much difference in the screen other than there is some light bleed around the edges of the screen in a few spots. I only notice it at night and it's not serious enough to bother me.

As far as I can tell, the screen is pretty much the same. Not any sharper or brighter. The auto-brightness is as useful/useless as it is on the Thrive. I don't think I have any light-bleed on mine, but that wouldn't bother me either.

I get 8-9 hours or of mine unless I'm gaming, then it is a bit less.

I've experienced similar battery life to the Thrive.
