who developed the compression method used? Can toshiba have the right to change the program to have some encryption incorporated. Or is it some new way of compressing developed by the android source team used in ics?
I dont understand the roadblock were up against.

With help from Fuses on XDA, it looks like there is a block of code not normally generated from the compression. It looks like a signature:

I'm having an issue with compression. You can split the boot image, then use mkbootimg, and it works fine. But, once you decompress the ramdisk, theres something about recompressing it that f***s everything up.
