Looks like a shady website but you never know. Can't find any info on them but it has that familiar web site look. Could be operating under another name.

hey, I thought it was a real shady site too. After hours and hours of debating, I decided to take the risk and pulled the trigger on ordering one of them. I also spoke on the phone with the manager/owner of the custom gadget store. From what I could get, he's a small business trying to grow. Scott seemed like a great guy, on-point customer service. My tablet should be coming in tomorrow, and well I don't think it's a scam. On top of that, I paid with paypal, so paypal covers my purchase if I don't receive my tablet. If all goes well tomorrow, I will be ordering another one. For the price, it's too good to pass up.

Be very finicky when you first look at it. Make sure there's no scuffs.. Scratches... Signs of wear on the power, volume rocker, all side ports. None of the buttons feel lose (already broken in). Crack open the back case and take out the battery. Look to see if anything was tampered with.

Sounds really fishy to me. More like a refurb marking as new.

+1 check it over and make sure the Tablet looks good

I couldn't find much on them either but they do have an ebay store. I was looking over their feedback and the buyers who received notebooks and tablets seemed happy. Whoever orders one from them let us know how it goes.

I didn't even see this thread before; however, I did buy my Thrive from the Custom Gadget Shop for the price listed above plus $7. priority mail shipping (it came FedEx out of Georgia). I ordered on Saturday, Aug. 20, and it arrived Monday Aug. 29. I did email on 24th about the order (after two business days and no shipping-per site). Shipped out on the 26th. The Thrive is brand new. As someone mentioned in a forum, it took him longer to unwrap than to root. I think I've checked everything now and all is working. BEAUTIFUL tablet. I thought I might have a problem with HDMI but found solution (epakrat75 replied with help almost immediately). Scott was very responsive pre-order. I was able to buy with my Visa so I have an extra year warranty there plus reward points (which is how I 'earned' the $ to buy this tablet). This was not as good as the former Amazon offer, but you can rest assured the tablet is new and the deal is legit even though they do need help with their website. Did I mention I love this tablet? Can't wait to root it.

That is great. I am pondering buying one for my wife. She keeps getting upset that I am on my all the time. Maybe if I get her one, she will see the benifits. I previously owned a Viewsonic Gtablet, and I can tell you, this is soooooo much better, than that. I am glad, I didn't let my wife have that one, she would have said, what's the point.....I ended up buying mine at Office Depot....I have one down the road, I thought if I had an immediate issues, it would be easier for me to just drive back down there and return it....
