    newbie - help please...

    okay, finally took delivery....

(i find the manual rather unhelpful in many areas)

    a. how do you import igoogle (or just google) bookmarks, and / or where are the bookmarks in the browser?

    b. i copied a website to internal storage (so it can be viewed offline), but when i click on the index page (or a link to it - as i would do on my laptop) i get a browser window saying 'offline'?

    c. what's the max mp4 video rate i can use. i get poor stuttering playback on a hd 720p?

    that's today's questions ;-)

    thanks for looking / helping

I don't use iGoogle so I can't answer that. I would suggest downloading websites on the device itself when offline viewing is required.

I've used a software called "Read It Later (Pro)" from the market. It provides the simplest way to what I think you're asking for.

Video issues like yours are common and you might wish to read around the Video forums. The member DVD Catalyst is a video guru. He authored a program that would probably make your file play normally if you couldn't find your answer in the video section. He has his own forum here too.

Download a whole website rather than just a few pages here and there? No, I have no idea how to do that on that Thrive. I imagine the site owner would might be rather displeased with the bandwidth sucking nature of such an act among other things. Definitely not recommended. Websites change and they can occupy a lot of space. You'd definitely want to use external storage for that if it's possible but I've not tried that either.

What browser do you use on your PC,, where your bookmarks are? Windows Explorer? Firefox? Safari?

When you say download a web site, what do you mean by that? For example "how do I connect to amazon.com?"

    thanks for the responses.....

    there's actually 2 questions here:

    a. my wife has a lot of bookmarkes in firefox she'd like to copy across. is there any 'import' facility on the thrive

    b. since we live rurally and wifi is a rarity, we like to put OUR websites on the thrive and use offline. i did so, but when tapping a .html page i simply get a message cannot open file / offline? is this a problem with the browser? if so, would another open a .html page?

    many thanks for your help.

Your wife's bookmarks can be used in the Firefox for Android Beta. I use it and I set up a sync with my desktop Firefox and it lets me access the bookmarks without a problem as well as the open tabs from my desktop.

Here is the link to take a look. https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result

I used an app called My Bookmarks. I was able to get them into the default browser and they also showed up in Dolphin Pad. I could import all or individually which worked for me since I didn't want all my bookmarks coming in. Putting them into folders was a pain. They may sync that way from Firefox to Firefox.
