Question Toshiba Thrive toot & ROM confuxion

    Hello everyone,

I'm not exactly new; as a matter of fact, I see I'm listed as a lurker! (Only occassionally). Nice to meet you in person.
I've gotten much useful info from you all and I'm hoping you can help me now in finding the right ROM for my Thrive.
I installed the ADB drivers and have achieved "superuser", which I think means I'm wide open and ready for ROM. Extracted the DaleNet-Thrive_10-ClockWorkMod_Touch_Recovery-v2.0.zip to the SD card root and booted in fastboot mode.

    The message read:

    Install/sdcsrd...
    Finding update package...
    Opening updatte package...
    E:Signature verification ended
    Installation aborted

My thrive already has ICS 4.0.4 on it from the last sanctioned update. All the postiings I've read, the latest I found were from Feb. or March 2013.
and all the ROM's I see are listed as ICS 4.0.4.
My question is am i using outdated ROM's and how can I find ones for Jellybean or KitKat?

Incidentally my ROM build is: IMM76D.01.000072314

    All help will be appreciated.

Use the Dalenet Universal Easy Flash Tool....
It will root, install CWM, and set the stage for further ROM exploration.
JB ROMs are in Pio_masaki's Development area, and Kit Kat will probably never happen, as support for our CPU has been removed.
    rosalie and pio_masaki like this.

Turn off signature verification in recovery (that's what you were in, not fastboot) and try the zip again, if its not signed that option will cause it to fail.

I guess JB is good enough for now. Will try the Universal. Thanx.

You could still be stuck on ICS without JB as an option at all you know, that took a lot of work and time to make happen.

Ah well. I haven't gotten back to it properly. tried to restore tab and forgot to unplug data cable. my computer was not happy. reverted back to a point approx. one year ago all current info and second drive were in limbo for a while. had to walk away!

Why would restoring make your PC unhappy? Recovery gets along just fine with PCs? I spend a lot of my time in adb shell on my PC with a device in recovery actually. Either way hope it works out, sometimes a break is the best option to take.
