missing customize button after factory reset for ics

I have been having so many freezes, dropped web pages, etc. after upgrading to ics that I decided to do a factory reset. That done , twice, I got a usable version but no customize button. Anyone else have this problem? What can I do about it?

Hi, Esco Jim. What kind of customize button are you referring to, and where do you expect it to be located?

    Thriving with dalepl's silky-smooth DaleNet IMM76D.01.000072314 Rooted ROM (US ICS 4.0.4) and Pio_Masaki's Melchior v 2.4 kernel

Hi Rosalie, I am refering to the "+" sign in the upper right corner of the desktop pages. The apps botton is there but the + sign that should be just to the right of it is missing. Without it I don't know how to put shortcuts for web pages on my desktop.

That was a feature in HC. ICS got rid of that. You now select the APPS in the upper right and then long press the item you want to add to the desktop. Also, if you swipe the apps to the left, you will find widgets to add.

    Jim,

In Dolphin, I add a bookmark. Then I go into my bookmark list and long-press on the one I want to put on the Homescreen. One of the options is "Add shortcut to home".

Edit: I just checked and the same option is in the default Bowser app.

    Cheers, Dave
