    1) Is it easy to recover the tab if something goes wrong? On my Arnova 7 if a flash failed I could just flash the original ROM back and have it back to factory default. Is there something like this here or is it possible to totally brick your Thrive?

    2) Will I be able to use some of the other ROMS around using this tool? ROMS like Honeysmacked etc or can I only use a rooted version of my normal ROM?

    3) Where can I send the unrooted system and ROM files to allow you to make a root from them?

    4) Can anyone lend me 20 quid until next week?

    Cheers
There is always a chance you could brick your device, but very small chance. In most cases we can recover it. Once I have copies of your ROM, I can create a stock ROM to go back to. Once you have rooted, you will also have ClockWorkMod, so yes, you will be able to try other ROMs and still go back to your original ROM. To get a copy of the ROM to me, you will have to updoad it to a site like FileSonic or DropBox. Send me the link and I can then download it. Sorry, I am broke!

If one has one of you rooted ROMs installed, will this tool work to unroot the device? If so, all of the other tweaks that came with the ROM stay?

Unrooting will leave fastboot in place?
Yes, you can unroot with this tool as long as the ROM is listed. As for tweaks, if they are in the boot image, then the tweak is gone. If it is in the framework, like a theme, then it will still be there. Fastboot is left on the device.

Process finish ok with out errors, but when i go to enter on recovery mode not show the option Backup and Restore.

    I follow this steps.
If your ROM is not listed on the menu, do the following:
    1. Unzip the tool to the desktop of your PC (or anywhere you like as long as you know where you put it).
    2. Open the Universal_Easy_Flash_Tool.bat file.
    3. Select option 3.
    4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
    5. Once the process is completed, boot the device into ClockWorkMod recovery.

Just flashed CWM, had to use the recovery.bat in the bin_files folder though. Will send the stuff dalepl needs for the EU/UK .0004 once he's online.

Edit: Seems the recovery didn't install properly ... still stock one.

Lost me with the edit. Do you have a rom for dale to root from uk? Reason I ask is that if you do, I don't need to send him one again.

I will look into it when I get home. I realized at this moment that I did not update the menu to launch the script. Sorry, I was up late last night.

Well I'm from belgium but I'm on HTK55D.35.5.0004
And apparantly I can't flash CWM onto my tab, i can see it wrote the recovery image but when i go to it it's the stock one.
Doing the temp root only trough adb gives me temp root though so

Just a head up Dalepl. In the Universal_Easy_Flash_Tool.bat file the call to recovery.bat has twin colons ( :: ) in front of it. Is that supposed to be there? DOS ignores those lines so the call to recovery.bat isn't made. If it's supposed to be like that then just ignore me

Hmmm... If you see it wrote it, it should be there. There is one item it might be. Some of the stock ROMs have code that replaces the recovery image with a stock recovery image on boot. I may not have set the script to disable this. In the mean time, go to the general development section and get @TurnYourBackAndRun's ClockWorkMod installer.
