    Hello everyone,
I know I might not be posting in the right topic, but I think it might be interesting here because this is one of the most active topics.

I have a Toshiba AT200 (not Thrive, I know) which is running fine under Android 3.2.1 (build HTK55D.05.5.0003)... It is really outdated now, a lot of apps don't run under Honeycomb and I know an ICS update is available, but this tablet hadn't been updated for years and when I want to update using Service Station it tells me to connect my tablet to an external power source... And when I do that, it does not change anything, is there a way to charge the tablet using another way than USB ?

I tried to run "dumpsys battery" (to see what the tablet says when it connected to USB) or "dumpsys battery set ac 1" (to make the tablet think it is in in charge using AC) in a Terminal Emulator but ehm, the tablet isn't rooted so no way to run commands... Do you think there is a way to root it ?
In fact, I don't really want to root it, just to update to 4.0.3 would be fine but I don't see any way to bypass this annoying message...

    Thank you very much !

I think AT200 is Excite. Post in that forum perhaps to get some help on charging and rooting.
I'm a bit surprised you try to charge by USB because I think excite comes with a 5v 2amp adapter and a special cable.

    Red face

I rooted my Thrive AT100 about 5 years ago. I haven't used it much in the last 2 years so I thought I would sell it. I'd like to do a factory reset but I think I need to un-root first? I can't remember what steps need to be taken to do that without bricking it. I am currently running Android 4.0.4 and am on Build Number IMM76D.01.000072314. I do have ClockWorkMod installed. Is there a step-by-step to do this? Do I UN-root first and then factory reset? How do I UN-root? Is there a factory ROM that I can flash that would be as good as the original factory ROM?

Thanks so much for your help. I don't want to screw this up but I can follow step-by-step directions.

Hmmm, I don't know if you have to unroot first. But yes, there is a method to return to the factory state. Paul posted the files then they vanished, then I put'm on mediafire but am not sure if they're still there. We did some recent work - read posts 86 here to the end, there were some difficulties which are beyond my skill level:
[TOOL] Reflashing Your AT100/105 Device When It Will Not Boot

A mad thought: if you're selling for parts, by all means clean it out. But if you're selling to a person who might use it, heck, they may appreciate that it's already rooted ... but that will require you, of course, to totally somehow clean out your private information.
