Is there any way to recover from bricking? I missed this post, I was having trouble with the Thrive being able to create or transfer files to my external SD card. I tried to format it in CWR, now I'm bricked.

Not with any way that I know of. I have been rooting and romming android since the original droid. I have a galaxy nexus, charge, bionic, and 2 thrives, well 1 and a bricked, rooted. I mess around with this stuff quite a bit. I am not a complete noob but I definitely made a noob mistake!

Is there any other way to flash recover or fast boot? Any way in at all?

No. If you did format the internal partition, it takes NVFlash to redo it and we do not have the cypher keys for it.

I CAN get into CWM. Is there any way to recover my device?

I accidentally bricked my tablet today by formatting /sdcard in CWM recovery. Stupid me, and I thought the tablet was a goner for awhile. But I could still boot into recovery, so I had hope.

What worked for me was booting into fastboot and flashing hmj37.01.5.0032_rooted_boot.img (from Easy Flash 2.5)

Then I slow-formatted (not quick format) an SD card to FAT32, extracted the latest ICS rom update.zip to it and miraculously was able to flash it.

If you have bricked your thrive but are able to get into recovery, try this for sure.

In theory just flashing ics should fix a brick if you can get into clockworkmod recovery, I say this because ics isn't just a update its a full and complete rom.

Yeah I was unable to access the SD card at first, but I think that just the flashing of the ROM fixed it.
